^ yarr that sorta covered it, I have a lowdown 150 with what looks like a place where a microphone lead can go into it saying direct output above it

I have a LowDown 150 as well. I use the XLR on the back out to the board in place of a direct box all the time.

Just one note of caution... as much as I like my LowDown 150, the one thing it lacks is a pre/post switch for the direct out. The direct out on that amp is "Post" processing which means ANY changes you make to any settings on the amp (other than master volume) will go directly to the board. So you may need to work with your sound engineer a bit to find settings that work best for you on stage and still work in the front of house mix.

I will drive to San Diego from Salisbury, NC, to see that band!

But yeah! Direct outs on amps are great! Use it!

By answering his query, you only encourage texting while driving...

One other tip... if the sound engineer is complaining of buzz in the bass channel, it's quite likely a grounding issue and that can usually be fixed by clicking the "ground lift" switch on the back of that amp, right next to the XLR jack.
