How to run vocal effects into the board

Sign in to disble this ad
I have an old Peavey Deltafex rackmount unit (not the dual) that I've used for many years for vocal effects. Typically I just run a bit of reverb and maybe a bit of delay.

Usually, I would run a second monitor or auxilary signal from the vocals to the processor, then return the wet signal from the processor to another channel on the board giving me the original clean vocal channels and another channel with all wet vocals.

Anyone do it differently?

Depends the board, installation and signal path possibilities.

That's how I do it. Post fader aux to effects set on 100% wet, back into a channel. That way you can EQ effects if needed or send a little out another aux to monitors if desired.
