I Have Counquered!

Sign in to disble this ad
SO, I run a Peavey Grind 6 w/ EMGs through my pedal board, into a LMII w/ an ART tube compressor in the effects loop. I use an Avatar 2x10 and a GK 1x15

I have conquered my bass tone. How do I know? At some point during my bands set last night the thunder rumbled my compressor (which is a little bit larger and heaver then a wireless receiver) off the top of my amp, which caused it to fall to rip out of the effects loop, AND when it was falling it happened to knock the cable out of my 1x15 cab..... AWESOME!

Now I just have to figure out a way to keep it on my amp for tonights show.. hmmmmm

Since the compressor hasn't fallen off your amp before, the rumble may be from the floor of the stage, not your cabs.

You might want to take a look at: Auralex Gramma For Removing Excess Rumbling?

If it's not the stage you can check out: need some help here, anti shock insulation for ... or http://www.talkbass.com/forum/f15/shuttle-6-0-vibration-concern-432223-post5694802/

I don't think it was the stage. We've played at that venue about 5 times. Tonight, we played on that same stage, my compressor moved around a little, but didn't fall off..... hmmmmm

Rack mount is best -but if the surface is flat that the compressor is on you could use velcro or that rubber cabinet liner material (also used as router pads in wood working). I have to use that between my Hartke HyDrive cab and SKB case or the case can be easily pushed off...
