I need help with a speaker replacement...

I was wondering if I could find a good replacement speaker for my SWR workingpro 1x15 bass cabinet, but I hear you can't always just go throwing any old speaker in any old cab. So I'm trying to find one that will work with the cab, handle at least 300 watts, and go down to 30 Hz comfortably, if possible. I already have a 2x10 for the higher frequencies, so I'm not concerned much with anything above roughly 200 Hz for this cab.

Here are the inner dimensions without the port: 21.25” W x 16.5” H (between top and port) x 15.75” D.

The port is a bit complicated. It’s a slot shaped port on the bottom that runs the width of the cab, but it has a brace in the center that runs front to back and is ½” wide. The distance from the side to the brace is 10” for each half. The top board of the port goes 8 ½” deep, and the bottom is 17 ½”, front to back wall. It’s 2” high.

Any help would be awesome.

How about a recone? Is the coil still good? Or do you have a cab with no speaker?

Pretty much a cab with no speaker. I don't really want to repair or replace the original, as the role of the cab in my rig now is different from when I bought it. Wouldn't handle the lows I'm trying to put into it now. More watt handling would be nice too.

Cabinets are definitely tuned for specific speakers, or at least speakers with certain specs. Sorry, I don't know enough about cabinet design or speaker options to suggest a replacement. I've always just reconed or swapped for the same kind of speaker. Good luck.

I used Carvin 15" speakers in a Peavey cab and they sounded better than the originals.
