Seriously, i gig 2 - 3 times a week. currently playing a sadowsky rv 5 and a warwick 6 thumb bolt on through an eden time traveler head and 1/12 cabinet. tone is very good, but am pretty sure i can do better. have to be able to carry everything at once and travel by taxi! |

| | | | the classic Ampeg fridge is tuned fairly high and is a sealed (not ported) cabinet.
I'm not too aware of the current commercial offerings .. but there are some guys on here that might be more in the know ..
I'm sure if you spoke to the right custom builder they could hook you up.
As far as amps go, the new Genz Benz Streamliner or whatever .. the thing with the tube pre sounds pretty darn good to my ears. Plenty of clips on youtubes |

(110lbs.) which I sold to a friend of mine. That thing put out 500watts and IMO as much as my 810E, or close to . |

For smaller gigs my bass and all cables, picks, pedals, AND Genz Benz fit into my gigbag and I carry the GK cab as its only like 30 lbs or something. Very light. |

The modular Markbass head impresses me more than anything I've heard save a good preamp and a Crown K1.

You cant get around the laws of physics. No 210 or 112 is going to put out the massive tone and volume of a 810. But there are some darn good 210's out there. I'm thoroughly impressed with my GK neo 210. It's not the Talk bass cab of the week, but it gets loud and handles the lows almost as good a a 410. And it won't break you either. If you want to stay with Eden why not try out the 210xst?

Either way- that's your ticket

| | | | And I want a girl who's like Jenna Jamison in the bedroom, June Cleaver in the kitchen, has a trust fund like Paris Hilton, doesn't complain when I play my bass all day, and likes football.
Sometimes you can't have what you want.

Nothing can match a fully powered 412 or 810. |

I saw this recently and it's got me curious... the EHX 44 magnum. It's a power amp that is the size of their nano series. 8 or 16 ohm. $145 retail. I wonder if running a BDDI into the 44magnum, then to the cab, would give you a freestanding (no PA) SVT substitute that is essentially only the size of your cabinet. http://www.ehx.com/products/44-magnum
Speaking of cabinets, I'd suggest looking into the Orange Isobaric cabs. One speaker is behind the other one. There is a 2x10 in the size of a 110 cabinet, or a 410 in the size of a 210 cabinet. Folks either love em or hate em, and there are skeptics, but it looks like a cool idea. http://www.guitarcenter.com/Orange-A...79-i1568683.gc
I don't have personal experience with the 44 magnum or the Orange stuff, I'm just making suggestions to explore. BDDI > 44 Magnum> Orange SP210.... did I just discover the most brutal tiniest set up ever? Oh the things I'd do if I wasn't broke. |

VT Bass direct into the board with IEMs and let the PA do the heavy work. |
