IEM an Tinnitus

After doing some research I was wondering if any of you that have tinnitus use IEM for gigs or just ear plugs.? I have tinnitus, came on at rehearsal 2 weeks ago, and have owned IEM for the past year. I now use ear plugs for rehearsals but have a gig coming up and was wondering if IEM will make the tinnitus worse? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

In my experience, it helped it. They should not need to be screaming to hear what you want. Set a good volume and balance what you need and you should be fine. If they are closed it will help keep outside noise out so you can reduce the volume in the IEMs more effectively.

The IEMs should help prevent worsening of your tinnitus by controlling the sound levels.

It is CRITICAL that you have a 'BRICK WALL" limiter in front of your headphone amp. This is to prevent some huge spike blowing out your hearing. ALL IEMs should have this, as such spikes are even more dangerous with IEMs.
