Hi
Has anyone used a Line 6 Bass Pod (preferably bass pod Xt) in a live situation. Any problems? Any advice?

Best advise I can give would be to sell it and get a Sans amp Bass driver. You will wonder why on earth you didn't do this earlier. Fantastic product. I just sold my bass POD and will not miss it one bit. It's so inferior to the Sans amp bass driver that's not even funny.

I agree. even though I don't use it live anymore, I've used mine with my PC.
I used mine live, but I didn't like that you couldn't combine effects. Also, the volume pedal was tricky.
Mind you, this was an old pod, not an xt. |

I don't know what dufus programmed them. I realize that it's going to sound different in front of different amps and different direct or through an amp, but sheesh for $400 you'd think you'd be able to turn it on and find some really great patches that only needed a little tweaking.
For me such was not the case. I had to make my own patches by tweaking ones that were just OK.
No, problems live, used it out a lot. It's solid. The only real problem was the pedal switching from wah to volume pedal. The button doesn't hit all the time. I had to put a little button in there so it would connect right. Never really use that feature though. Also, the display is hard to read in daylight. |

| | | | I just used my Pod X3 Live for the first time with my church group, using the "64 bass" stock patch, and it sounded extremely professional going direct into the board, and I was told that the bass sounded tight even at low levels. Also, the Pod X3 is the new unit which features both bass and guitar patches, so you don't have to buy a "Pod" and "Bass Pod" unit separately.
One piece of advice I can give is this. If you're going to use one of the live units, make sure you leave the volume / wah pedal wide open when you're using it as a volume pedal. Usually, I'll leave it wide open at first, set the master volume, then use the volume pedal simply to mute the bass when I'm not playing it. Also, take the time to tweak your sounds at home before going out and using it live. It's tedious and takes time, but the results are extremely rewarding. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
