| | | | Line 6 wireless, really that good? On the verge of purchasing my first wirless system, getting sick and tired of dealing with cables at gigs/practice! All i've been seeing on TB is nothing but solid reviews on anything line 6 and have to ask, are they really that good? I have a hard time believing that Line 6 is better than names like Sennheiser, but I'm going off what i hear on this! I want to keep it around $500, because everyone I have talked to who has purchased a cheap wirless, wishes they would have spent a little more on a better unit. Thanks in advanced folks |

I've been using a G50 since my Sennheiser got "outlawed" and feeding it Eneloop rechargeables. The only time I've had to do anything except "plug and play" was to change to Channel 2 at a gig in Houston(their musak system seemed to be wirelessed on Channel 1's frequency). No big deal.
It also has "cable sims" if you want to put cable colorations in your sound. I run it without them.

I've had my G50 for over a year now, and it's been all over the world with me. never had so much as a hiccup, and I can't tell the difference in sound between it and my George L's cables (I did a direct A/B comparison when I first got the G50). They're really easy on inexpensive AA batteries, too. The only weak point is the too short cable included with the unit. I bought a few custom made cables from an Ebay vendor.
Cheers! |

I've used my G30 on an almost daily basis since I got it... maybe 1-1/2 years ago. It has performed flawlessly. Amazing bang for the buck IMHO. |

Line 6 bought them out a few years back. Double tough, and good stuff!

Yup - been using an XDR-95 for 4 years now, and it's been great... The plan is to "upgrade" to the G50 if/when my X2 stuff starts to act up - but I don't see it happening anytime soon, and there's certainly no need to, until that time...

A high end sennheiser syst (IMO piece of garbage) xmttr went out at the wrong time (live) replacement xmttr cost was $$$$$$
I just purchased new (not B stock) Relay G50 system for $329 delivered. I have had it for 2 weeks and nothing but great results!
What I do love about line6 over over the older X2 systems is battery usage cost AA over 9volt battery cost |

Can't tell difference to cable, went 50 ft away and still strong. Great not tripping on cables, able to walk around, check out the sound from the front, etc. can't beat the price. |

| | | | So the question remains.....is there a quality of sound difference between the G30 and the G90? You have all pretty much convinced me to pick up a line 6 unit at this point. From what i have been told a wireless sytem is something you dont want to buy cheap or you will regret it, any truth to this? I dont want to drop 600 on the G90 but if i am going to be happier with the sound and quality, i definitely will. |

(samson airline bug transmitters)
I build my own custom cables to my personal needs 90deg or straight end 1/4
to me you get more flexibility with instrument use IMO |

Its nice to turn on plug and play instead of having to adj gain etc for different instruments if you change during a set also |

I dont want to drop 600 on the G90 but if i am going to be happier with the sound and quality, i definitely will. | From what I've read, the g30 is in a plastic shell with a 1/4 jack on the transmitter, g50 in metal case with TA4f connector on transmitter and g90 is a rack mount receiver with TA4f connector on the transmitterr. Also range goes from 100ft line of sight (g30) to 300ft line of sight (g90). Compare Relay G90, G50 & G30 Wireless Guitar Systems | Line 6
I have been using the g30 pretty steadily since december and have been very happy with its performance.
