Several of us have had very good performance from the iPower lithiums.
I've got the Ni-MH rechargeables. I'm guessing they're not recommended for this. Lesson learned!
So the lithiums would be a better choice, eh?

Yeah, I'm not sure the voltage on these is high enough. If you're serious about rechargeables, get the iPower ones. They're expensive but they work well.

Just a thought....not sure if anyone ever tried it....or if there would be a reason to not try it (I guess I ask because I was thinking about it)....but

Lets say you used one of the PDA/cell phone sleeve type things to put the transmitter in on your strap and it had extra room it in.....couldn't you just wire up a RC car battery (one of the small ones...4" long or so) with a 9V adapter end.....plug it into the transmitter and stuff the whole thing in the sleeve....and run for a long time (thinking like 10hrs)? I mean those batteries are 9.6V and like 1400mah or better. Seems it would work no? Some of the techie guys here may have a reason it wouldn't....so thats why i ask.

Just thinking outside the box I guess.

I got 7 hours from one of the iPower batteries. I'm sure I'll get less as it gets older. But, even at half this, it seems like plenty to me. You can always have two charged up if you need lots of time. Personally, I wouldn't want the etxra bulk hanging off my strap.

The bulk is the one thing for sure....but just thinking aloud.

I would like to go with the ipower battery too.....just have to think about spending that much....$20 a battery and $35 for the charger....ouch.
