Looking 4 feedback on the Tapco Subs

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm looking at the 1000watt powered tapco, for kick drum and wee bit of bass re-inforcement. Just wondering if any one has experience with these subs. I previously used a QSC 800 that was OK but seemed to fart a bit when I ran some bass through it along with the kick.

I'm hoping to eliminate carrying an extra cabinet to gigs. I run a gbe 1200 with a GB 212 neo and an older gb 410. I'd like to leave the 410 at home, make drummy carry the sub and run some bass through it as well.

Would I get a fuller sound running the 212 and going direct to the sub or running both cabs and leaving the sub just for the kick.

This is for onstage monitoring only. Reggae band, got to really be able to hear the kick and bass

Always have a proper high pass filter on the tops and a complementary low pass filter on the sub (as opposed to having the sub just for the kick).

Given that Mackie's best sub is barely acceptable, I doubt the Tapco is very good (unless it's the same thing with different cosmetics).

Yamaha UCS1 users seem to like them a lot.

The discontinued JBL MP418 is decent, and has an amp channel built in to power a top box.
