looking to protect speakers

i have a peavey xr8600 powered mixer. it has a built in ddt thing in it. i call it a thing because im not sure what it does actually. is it a high pass filter? anyone have a xr8600 that knows what this feature does. i just got a pair of jbl mrx515's and dont want to blow them up.

we will be running a upright bass, acoustic guitar, mandolin, and vocals. my bass amp has a high pass filter on it that i keep on about 10:00 o'clock and run a direct to the mixer. we have played in this format with some berhinger 12's, we have never had a problem before.

just trying to be safe with my new speakers. thanks

The DDT is a built in limiter that is designed to keep you from blowing up your speakers. You should be fine. The mrx 515 will take a lot more power than your mixer is capable of delivering.
