Looking for set-up help on a GK rig w/ 2 heads & BBE maxcon

Sign in to disble this ad
i bought a gallian-kruger backline 600 rig last march. it came with 4x 10 & 1x 15 cabinents, a 300 watt head,a furman power/light strip and a BBE sonic maximizer maxcom 2 chan dual compressor all wraps up in a anvil case.

the BBE didnt come with a manual so i tweeked around with it and the head and got some good sounds, but i still never got a grasp of the BBE.

2 weeks ago i got a BOSS GT-10B and i hurried along to hook it up to this rig so i decided to just unplug the bbe and run the gt-10b direct into the GK head. the BOSS is alot of fun!! so i decided to get another GK head so i could get some kinda stereo sound out of the GT-10B and it sounds alot better with 2 heads running in stereo( its not really stereo but it as close as i can get at the moment with the equipment i have)

my question is there a way I can hook up the BBE to both heads? i am curious to see if there is way to hook up the BBE To both heads- being a 2 channel device. I am really liking the stereo sound i have now with both heads & the bt-10b but maybe it will sound better with the BBE. I am no pro when it comes to pre-amp and compressors so any help will be praised graciously.

thanks Matt

I use a similar setup with a stereo pedal board into a MAXCOM and an 800RB with a 4x10 and 1x15.

My best advice is to run your bass through the boss pedal then into the main inputs on the heads. Use the MAXCOM in the effects loop of the heads as my best results with compressors and such are when they come at the last possible point in the signal chain. If you end up sending the same signal to both amps, use the 'LINK' button on the MAXCOM and this will allow you to use the channel 1 controls as a master so that channel 2 is set exactlly the same. The outputs are still operated independently however. I would also recommend a crossover to support bi-amp.
