Looking to upgrade (somewhat) the HF drivers in some monitors

I got a couple of Yamaha Club Series wedges locally. They work without issue, but the high end is not that great. These take 2 bolt horns. I don't want to put a ton of money into them. What have you used successfully?

What do you not like about the high end in the club series box?
I find a little EQ goes a long way in smoothening them out.
A slight -3db cut at 5k & 12k works well with them (at least it does on club version V ).

I did some eq work with them the other day. I'd like to "sweeten" them up. Kinda bland.

In my opinion it's a roll of the dice to just swap out compression drivers in hopes of a significant improvement.

A high end that is "not that great" could be the result of a mediocre compression driver, mediocre horn, mediocre crossover, of some combination thereof.

The Selenium driver may well be a "better" driver than the stock driver, but whether or not it gives you an improvement depends on whether or not it works well with that horn and crossover.

I'm with Duke. If you want better monitors, just get better monitors. "Upgrading" is a big gamble.
