That only has "semi parametric" EQ's - the DL1608 has fully parametric EQ's .

Or if you have an Apple Airport Express. Connect 1/8 in to router then use a 1/4 adapter and plug into channel 16 if your not using it. Then you can play music wireless from the iPad out front using airplay during breaks. Works great.

I have loved using the DL1608 to control the EV elx118p's and elx112p's. Plus having 31 band eq on all the aux's allows me to ring the monitors. No Feedback during show.

So if you remove the iPad, turn it off, throw in it a river, etc in the middle of a set, the DL1608 keeps working?

Yes. Only throwing the iPad in a volcano will cause the 1608 to stop working. My precious!!!!!

I played a small trio gig last night. Three singers, guitar, sax/flute bass and chip our drum machine. No amps for guitar or bass, all direct! I used the 1608 and two QSC K10's. Small place so I used on K10 for the house and set the other on the floor as a foh monitor. I wanted the floor to be the foh mix but the 1608 doesn't allow you to control left and right out individually. I had an xlr out splitter cable so panned all the channels right except channel 16 which I panned left. I took the splitter cable and plugged that into the right out and sent one side to foh and the other side into channel 16. Monitor was plugged into the left out of the 1608.

I could then adjust the volume for my floor monitor on it's own and I could use the 4 band EQ to deal with tone and feed back. Worked well. I must look into the earlier post to plug the 1/8th out from my Mac airport into the mixer for itunes on the ipad while I am mixing with the ipad detached.

And the 16.4.2 has more patching features as well. IMHO I really think it is best to compare the 1608 only to the 16.02 as far as features and class.

So you're using those k10's without the sub with the whole band? Hmmmm...

Used my 1608 tonight with my QSC K12s and a K sub. It sounded fantastic. One criticism I'll level at the 1608, though, is that the screen for the mains and the Aux channels look exactly the same, and they are easy to get confused on the fly.

Yes but keep in mind it is a small place, maybe seats 50. And with a drum machine we don't have a drummer to fight and since there are no stage amps no real stage sound to fight.

Works well.

Sorry to be off topic but I'm on the cusp of ordering a k10/ksub system and I'm just a bit leery of how the bass/vdrums will do through the 10s. I would be going subless for acoustic-no bass/drum gigs and adding the sub for the full band so this is encouraging.

You "would" have output control as there's a trim knob for each channel.... not the best but a smart inclusion.

I own the 10's and 12's. I like the 10's better for the tops and with the sub the whole band sounds great and in my dou as I wrote about a single 10 works great too and it is lighter and takes up less air space which can be a prmium in some tight clubs.

My previous drummer used VDrums and he used one of the 12's as his onstage monitor for vox and his kit and they were so loud it was deafening. The 12 never blinked an eye.

It's been down since 1/4 so doesn't look good. Try the unofficial user group at:
