Marshal 4x12 cab

Hi peeps, I was wondering if anyone knows if a marshal 4x12 cab model AVT412xB 8Ohms will be any good as a bass cab, using an old trace Elliot header,
Any info greatfully received

At low to moderate volumes it will work ok but the louder and lower you play the greater risk you run of damaging the speakers. Use a dedicated bass cab if at all possible. Thumbs up on the TE head!

Up to about band practice level (unmic'ed drums) you'll be okay... anything louder and you're going to be hell on the speakers. This is a generic guideline however... everything is variable and it could come down to pick vs fingers, 4 vs 5 string, growly tone vs hiFi as the difference between keeping the cab alive or blowing it apart the louder you push it.

My guitarist has one of these exact cabs. Even uses a bass amp to drive it. I've plugged into it and it sounds like garbage. He sounds fine though. I'm, thinking that the speakers really don't push the same freq's needed. and to make it do that you will probably damage the speakers.

It is rated at 200watts, but don't push too much bass into it, it is a guitar cab not designed for bass.

FWIW, there are Marshall 4-12 cabs made for bass.
