Mic'ing Kick through Mackie 808

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey Guys,

I'm sure a lot of us use this Mackie head for PA bar gigs.

I'm doing a gig tonight that should need a little kick reinforcement. I've never run the kick through this head because I've been worried about blowing the speakers. Any tips?

The speakers are JBL MR series 15 + horn (500watts)

thanks!

I guess the gig is over. If you do it again, just gate the kick channel using the insert jack. You can use a cheap compressor/limiter to accomplish this.
