MIDI control Promix 01 from ipad or RML SAC

Got a scenario I would like to try to get going. I have an old Yamaha Promix 01 automated 16ch desk. It can be controlled via MIDI. I am trying to think of an easy way to get MIDI from one of the ipad controller apps to it. These apps normally take a dedicated plugin on the PC/Mac to receive the WiFi from the ipad and pass on to some DAW running on the same PC/Mac.

I would like this MIDI to be sent externally via a MIDI out to the desk. What would be even better is if no PC/Mac was involved either - obviously need some hardware with MIDI and I saw there is a MIDI interface for the ipad/iphone. Would be cool to send WiFi from one iphone to another then MIDI to the desk. Dreaming probably.

I also like the idea of the RML Software Audio Console. I could replace the desk with my laptop and one or two Behringer ADA8000s. I know people remote control these from ipads.

Thanks,
Mike.

If you want to control with an iPad/iPhone you don't have no choice but to use a CPU.

With iTM MCU ( an iPhone app) a CPU , and a USB to MIDI unit you could easily do that.

Maybe someone will come up with a "dock" with some MIDI out options some day...... let's dream together !
