This is what I use both at church and personally. It's lasted me a couple years now, which for $14 I won't complain one bit about.

That's the EXACT cable I got from Radio Shack. I got two of them in case one fails.

Hey guys and gals! I just saw this pop up on 1964's facebook page. If you've ever wondered how IEMs are built this gives you a really cool look into the process. Enjoy!

And Vision... I'm pretty sure they feature your IEMs in there too!

I know I've already talked about it, but I gotta post again about how great the Rolls PM351 is. I take that thing EVERYWHERE now. I've done some studio sessions where I didn't get to have my own mix, so I just brought out the Rolls and instantly could hear myself clearly along with being able to balance it with the shared mix. I call it the "More Me" box. One of the guys I play with (sax player) ordered his own and it loving it too. And it works so great with the 1964 Ears.

I also use it as a headphone practice amp at home, it's replaced my old Cafe Walter. Sounds just as good, I can use it for way more applications, and it costs HALF the price!

What's a Rolls PM531? Couldn't find it via TB search or Google.

It's PM351, not 531. It's basically a headphone amp that allows you to mix a line in signal, and instrument signal, and a mic in signal. Here's a link to info on the Rolls website:

http://www.rolls.com/product.php?pid=PM351

Costs around $80, and the sound quality is top notch.

One point and two questions.

I found the rolls to be mising in the high end. sounded a little middie to me. I used mine once or twice but found my Senn 300 better tonal wise. I also missed the stereo ability which I don't think it has. Used Westone UM2 buds.

Also you mentioned going from UM2 buds to UM3 customs correct? Do you think it was the buds or the custom fitting that made the most difference in your new sound. Also when you sing does you voice sound just a bit muffled like you have your fingers in your ears.

I haven't noticed the Rolls missing anything in the high end. I do like a more mid forward sound so that could be it, but I also am comparing it to the Cafe Walter which is known for being completely flat. I'm also comparing it to my mix at church where I'm not using the Rolls because I have my own Aviom mix - the tone of my bass is very similar through both setups.

I went from the UM2 to the 1964 Ears custom V3s. Haven't ever tried the UM3s. But yes, that is a good question as to which improvements I'm hearing are coming from the custom fitting vs which improvements are coming from the extra driver and crossover from my 1964 Ears. As a guess I would say that the extra fullness I'm hearing in the lows is coming more from the custom fit than the extra driver (although I'm sure it helps!) and the extra clarity I'm hearing from top to bottom is coming more from the extra driver/crossover.

I'm not a singer so I don't know about that.

Thank you for the reply. The Rolls were good for the bass and instruments and it was the slight lack of highs on the vocals I thought I had noticed. Are there any singers out there using the Rolls that can comment? I do own one and I have to say it would be easier than bringing my splitter snake and my Mackie 1608 mixer.

SWEET! I love the artwork!

I'm completely in love with mine. Already thinking about my next order - I want to get another set just to use for listening to music (probably with a three button cable to replace my iPhone earpods) and then save my current set just for gigs...

I mentioned the 15' Grado cable. This thing isn't going to break on you...it's built like a tank!

Thanks Vision. I asked 1964 ears if my guitar player should get the V6 and they told me he should get the Triple drivers. They told me the V6's are not for live use but more designed for audiophiles (IPod listeners). So the V6 sounds like it would be awesome for your next set.
