My Generation Live at leeds?

in the solo, what kind of distortion does john use + does he use a pick?

I don't think entwhisle used a pick (ever) I always saw him using his fingers sometimes it looked like all of them - Bass Player usually has some pretty good articles on players maybe you could archive them and come up with the answer

John used a pick often... I'm not sure on that track.

His distortion on Live at Leeds was his Hiwatt CP-103 heads

Live at Leeds is mostly played with a pick and the tone is a P-bass into glorious Hiwatt amps, as James points out.

JE used a pick pretty exclusively for YEARs. LEEDS era is all pick unless he dropped it.

Even later he usually picked on songs he sang lead.
