Which Netbook/Notebook for FX box? Budget 1200$

Bang for buck wise, which one would you pick? The usage would be using programs LIVE like Guitar Rig4, Ampeg SVX, cubase & audacity etc. Running a track on the background while using Ampeg SVX is something that comes to mind (possible?)

I've got a Tascam US-144 MKII for audio interface, and i'll probably use XP or 7.

I dont care about screen resolution or "big" screen (lets not be extremists of course :P), video card performance, and any other tools except whats needed to run those programs that i've mentioned, so i need something that focuses on ram, processor, HD speed (those are the three most important aspects related to the rig's stability/performance for live, right? i admit i know nothing about the impact of bus speed, and the other zounds of things that would make one model over the other, so any insight on that would be appreciated too) but that wont come with any fancy tools that i wont need for this task and that would only increase my limited budget: 1200$, and if i can achieve good results with an even less expensive machine, even better

Thx in advance guys!

PS: i did search on this, but decided to start a new thread anyways since theres a new computer on the market everyday

I'd focus more on something that had a big screen.. could hold mutliple usbs and tons of memory -- not models or speed.

I bought a netbook (typing on it) failed as much of the music software wants you to have a huge screen.

Went 3 year old dell and works tons better
