---PASSIVE MONITORS---

Howdy.

I'm trying to create an option for passive monitors.

I rarely use them... (IEM band)

-----

Any reason I couldn't do a Rack bag with power amp and EQ to be kept with monitors for just the events that need passive monitors?

...

Comments appreciated.

No reason why not; what specs are you looking at? (number of channels, wattage etc)

I'd get powered monitors and forget the rack bag, personally. Some of them even have some EQ capability.

I've seen guys do that, EQ in the amp rack.

I like to have the EQ handy where I'm mixing, for killing feedback,

Jive..

I hear you .. there's a limit of how many thousands I can dump into a band... (in a month)

Since Monitors are RARELY used (I hate lugging them)... I'd be downsizing my monitors then creating an option for when I do need them.

Tim

A pair of powered monitors aren't that expensive, especially when you consider the cost of a power amp. I bought a pair of 1x12 powered monitors for under $600 new.

I would save up and buy some more k12s. You could use them as additional main speakers for outdoor shows or as a spare if you had a speaker fail.
