My singer is looking to but the SP4s here are the stats
* 3-way, full-range/biampable enclosure
* 15" Black Widow woofer
* Asymmetrical Quadratic Waveguide
* RX 22 Titanium 2" compression driver
* Sound Guard III tweeter protection
* 1,000W continuous power, 2,000W program, 4,000W peak
* Baltic birch construction
* Frequency response: 52Hz to 17kHz
* Max SPL: 136dB peak
He's going to use the Mackie power mixer 808S

Maximum Power at 1% THD, midband
(both channels driven)
2 ohms: 600W x 600W per channel
4 ohms: 450W x 450W per channel
8 ohms: 300W x 300W per channel
2 ohms: 1200W total

Will this work, running a set of roland V- drums, my bass {direst line out} and mic on 2 guitars, plus 3 vocals?

Is he using the two power amps in the 808s just to power the speakers, or is one power amp going to be used for monitors?

Either way, those speakers are way to big for the 808s and will be severely underpowered.

Let me know what the power sections in the 808s will be used for and I could suggest something better suited and cheaper.

Thats what we haven't decided on yet. We thought about 1 channel to run the sp4 {daisy chained} and monitors on the other.
I brought up the fact on taking my QSC 850 out of bridge mono and using my 2nd channel to run monitors.....

You're going to be WAY underpowered and probably VERY unhappy with the performance of the system. First of all, you can't run the SP4's daisy chained off of that powered mixer. You'll be running a 2 ohm load and even if it's rated to handle that, it's a recipe for a failure. Most likely what will happen, is you will be running the powered mixer into heavy clipping trying to get the volume you want and you'll start blowing drivers.

Buy once, cry once. Get the proper power and speakers to do the job. If you're dead set on getting (or already have) the Mackie 808 as power for both monitors and mains, you should be looking for speakers rated at 2-300 watts RMS that are efficient, something along the lines of the these Community Sonus speakers:

Then figure on adding a powered sub or two to give you some low end for the v drums and bass. Yorkville makes some of the best bang-for-your-buck powered subs, particularly the LS700P.

Nothing good would come from the sytem you are proposing....

I appreciate the info. My singer bought the 808s a few months ago and has been using a pair of EV 15's for vocals, while letting the band use their rigs for gigs.
Bringing in the new drummer with the V drums made him {singer} think about getting new stuff.
He spoke with a guy at firehouse music out here and was told it was like putting a 6 cylinder in a hummer with that combo
