A stupid question but here goes. I play music with a group of guys all 50 years old or older. We play classic rock, southern rock and some blues. We're using a little Phonic 740 Plus powered mixer with 2 Phonic 12" we use as monitors and 2 Behringer 15" we use as mains. We really don't gig and if we do it's outside and at parties...more like fun jam sessions. All we use the PA for is vocals. We mostly use the PA for practice though, using just the two 15" for vocals.
Now...the Phonic is supposed to be 220 x 220 watts.
The Peavey XR8300 is 300 x 300 watts.
I know there is not much difference there in output but now for another stupid question. Do you think the Peavey may sound a bit louder and just perform better overall just because of better quality?
Thanks...you have to give me a break. I'm off work with knee surgery and I'm bored.

The only reason I'm asking is I can get one like new for $325. I think they're around $500 brand new. Thanks.

I'm familiar with that model..

I'd bump up to the bigger sizes.. there are some minor differences.

Be VERY careful with that type of mixer amp.. since all the goodies are out and front in the open, it's common for stuff to get knocked around.
