Please recommend a rack compressor under $200 that will work for a good for a live mix of a whole band, drums, guitar, bass, vocals?

I'd go with a dBX 166 which can be had for $200 or less on the used market. Avoid the Alesis 3630 at all costs.

Are you planning on adding compression to the entire band mix or individual channels?

well i would love to do individual channels, but i think that would cost to much, so probably just the band mix

Thanks for the clarification. From what I understand, using a single compressor to tame FOH mix may be problematic. Have you read bongomania's compressor FAQ's? That's a good starting point.
