practice with the band without being heard

I want to practice with the band tonight as a new bass player but not be heard because the other bass is playing.I want to get the whole band off the board in my IEM and play along.Does that make sense to anybody? I got a little Vox amp that plugs into the body of the bass and I could put the feed from the board into it but hell the sound quality would be awful.Would there be another way to do this? They have personal mixers for every player so I will be able to adjust the whole band ,but that little Vox practice amp isn't great .

Wouldn't it be simpler to record the band rehearsal on a Zoom or somesuch? That way, you're not a weird presence during the rehearsal, and you can also practice along to the recordings whenever you want.
