Precision + MarkBass

The 'presence' frequency of the Precision basses is around the 250Hz. The MarkBass amp's Low-Mid freq knob is 380Hz.

How would I go on to boost my 250Hz with my MarkBass amp? :|

If you boost a frequency that is close to 250Hz, it should get boosted as well.

According the Little Mark II manual, the frequencies affected most by the Low-Mid knob are 340-380, anything beyond that is hardly affected at all. If I wanted to affect the 250Hz with the Low-Mid knob by 2-3dB, I'd have to crank the 360Hz by 16dB.

Some guys are telling me to get a Sansamp ParaDriverDI (The one with the Mid-Shift knob) or an EQ pedal but I don't think this is a good idea. I'm sure such an addon will change my tome much beyond just the 250Hz frequency that I want to boost.

On most things (amps and consoles), boosting at 250 will also give a fair boost at 160, where a lot of bass cabinets could stand to have a cut.

I gave up on this, I'll just boost EVERYTHING untill I can hear the 250Hz.

A graphic EQ like BOSS GEB-7 could've worked but it jumps from 120Hz to 400Hz and then other High-Mid frequencies.

31 band eq in your effects loop:
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi..._equalizer.jpg It's a dual eq. I'm sure there are single eq available. This one has a 250 adjustment slider. Note: enlarge the pic by clicking on it.

it's funny that it's bigger than my amplifier but if I can get my hands on one cheap, I'll try to get it.

Thanks for that.

I picked up a single 31 band eq used for about $50 awhile ago, so they are definitely out there.

Let us know how it goes.

Also, remember you can "boost" a frequency by cutting others.
