Samson S-monitor vs. ART MyMONITOR

Sign in to disble this ad
Has anyone used these? It's probably too much to hope for, but has anyone ever used both, able to compare/contrast them? In all likelihood, either one would work, but I'm wondering if one would be a better choice than the other... The Samson is powered by 18V (versus the ART's 12V), so I suppose it's possible it could have more headroom. But the ART is a bit more expensive, and (while certainly not ALWAYS) since you often get what you pay for...? And I don't have much or any past experience with either company's products to rely on a previous track record. Anyway, any experience, advice, or suggestions are welcome. Thanks!

Beginning of the work week bump... also, probably the last bump, as I'm guessing people just haven't used these...

I like my Samson S-monitor, a very good practice headphone-amp. For your instrument you have to use a DI-box or some kinda fx with balanced xlr out and an xlr cable to plug in, I like that way, the sound just christal clear!
cd/mp3 player connection with the regular stereo jack, and two headphones out. Very nicely built, small equipment I have to say. I am using two years now and had no problems with it.

If I choose to go this route, it looks like the Rolls is what I'll go with. It has a switch for the line level input that allows you to choose between mono and stereo (our monitor feed is mono... as I understand it with the Samson and ART, this would result in the monitor signal only coming out of one headphone). As for the XLR, not a problem... I'd be using the direct out of my LMII to feed into it. But thanks!
