Solo vs. Band

Awhile back I started a thread wondering about my tone and how I can improve it. I now find my sound 100x better in the mix of my band then I do just practicing by myself. Any advice?

I'd say that sounds about right. IMO my best tone sounds awful by itself but great in the mix of the band. Unless you are a solo performer I don't see a problem with that.

Fitting in with the band is far, far more important than sounding great alone. You have things the right way round!

Great points guys. I am not a solo performer and shouldn't mind my tone to much when I am just practicing. And to HolmeBass, I do not have a sound engineer to thank.
