Sound Effects

So, our band needs some sound effects for a few of our songs (gun shot, spring sound, scream, breaking glass, etc.). Can anyone recomend a trigger device/ pad and a good source for sound effects? Thanks for your help.

You can get CDs with those types of sound effects. Check amazon.com, etc.

There are a lot of free downloads on line - some good, some not.

If you want to play them on a computer, this allows you to make a play list and more - and it's free: http://www.audiovisualdevices.com.au...play/index.php

Thank you for the help on the sounds. What I'm looking for is some type of pad or trigger device to "play/ use" the sounds during the song. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

maybe something like this...http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/MPD18

or some other sort of midi controller that would let you program your own sounds in. Or just a little keyboard that would do the same, like the Micro Korg.

Ableton live is kind of what the pros use.

----

You could program each of the keys on a USB controller keyboard to play a sound font or wav file.

The triggering really depends on your knowledge base and willingness to program.

-----

I'd post this on a DJ forum -- there must be an application that lets you trigger wav files from keys on a laptop.
