Anyone see a problem running the VT Bass into a BBDI solely for the DI to FOH?
I know, I could buy the VT Bass Deluxe, but I own the VT Bass and I don't see the reason to spend more $$$ when money is tight. Thank everyone for your anticipated comments

What I find great about the VT deluxe is that you get more options for different sounds thanks to the 6 programmable channels. The DI, I see it more as a really great extra feature.

Seems like a massive waste to build it into a regular stomp box format. Tech 21 really ought to slap the innards of the VT into a housing like the Paradriver. Offer a DI out, option to power via phantom power, switches on both outputs between line and mic level and a tuner output. I neither need nor want the multiple channels of the VT deluxe. I sure as hell don't want the extra space taken up in my cord bag by a ginormous pedal. Until Tech 21 revamps the form of the VT bass, I don't care how much better it may sound. I'll just stick with my SABDDI as my backup/occasional preamp.

@OP search the forums, there's a guy who will mod your old VT pedal to add an xlr out. |

kael, quite honestly, tech 21 got caught with their pants down. i really don't think they had any clue that the vt would be such an instant hit with bassists. they figured most folks would just use it as an overdrive or an occasional tone shaper. i don't think they had any idea people would want to build their rigs around it. but for a few extra shekels, mike putnam can make it pretty much anything you want it to be with pretty much any feature you might need from a high quality di to a blend knob to a speaker sim defeat switch.

Seems to me that offering that and perhaps a few of their other bass friendly character series pedals would be a no-brainer. Oh well. I'll bide my time till then.
To the original poster. Sorry for the slight derail.
