Very small PA...and all that is running through there is 2 vocal channels. Tonight there was less feedback, and I came to realize a problem of maybe why the Lead mic is feeding back. The band's volume level is very high and the vocals are trying hard to keep up with the it so he turns it up up up...then "weee". I know it's A}Cheapy equiptment and B} Wrong placement of said Equiptment.

Yeah I've put alot of time and effort into this project the past 3 years on and off I am not sure what to do. Stage Ettiquete is horrendous with these guys, burping over the mic or trashing the other members with a quip or two between songs like "wow lotta wrong notes guys". I am not goona deal with it much longer.

Refer to post #15.

I'm sure there are other projects that would be a better waste of your time and talent. You sound like the only one who has his head on straight.

Zoober: Regarding post #15..So those coffee shops and bowling alleys we play for free must love us? Yeah they do..cheap entertainment. Everytime I book a gig that is paid they start getting really anal about wrong notes all of a sudden as if, playing for free in front people and playing for $50/each in front of the same amount of people makes a difference? You're still performing IMO...it's all about environment, sounds and lighting are gonna be distracting outside the garage lol!

there was a post around here somewhere that referred to the 3 factors of keeping a gig: you dig the players, you dig the music, you dig the money. 3 for 3 is a great gig, 2 for 3 is a good gig, one for 3 is a gig.

sounds like it's time to scrape this band off your shoe.

I wouldn't stand for having my balls busted onstage at a lot higher pay rate than that. If that guy said that to me, my response would have been, "OK, well how many wrong notes will you hear as I pack up my stuff in the middle of a gig?"

Sounds like you and your bandmates are on two different paths here. Seems like you would like the band to be more professional in both their sound and demeanor while they are not. You've expressed your concerns to them but they don't show any interest in changing anything so it's probably best to part ways with them since you don't seem happy with how things are going.

I will try posting a video of a recent gig here shortly to see what you guys think of the sound..it has potential musically, but intellectually..they are mental midgets :P

First I have to say I don't think it's a good idea to identify people you slam online. Who knows what can happen?

PA's exist because loud doesn't mean good sound. The PA mains should disperse the sound evenly through the room, so everyone gets a clear performance. Highs in particular need a straight shot at your ear. Yes a million bands do 'just fine' with a crappy set-up where the lack of clarity is 'solved' by filling the room with ridiculous volume, but why settle?

So your wall of sound is only vocals and keys? Not a big problem (with ear plugs) but how do you avoid feedback? My small trio uses one monitor and one main for vocals. No need for a stereo set-up.

Wow!! Sounds to me like you're dealing with a used car salesman rather than a musician devoted to getting it right.. Do yourself a favor and bail. This will get very ignorant in the long run.....
