| | | | What wireless system to buy?

I'm looking for a wireless system for my bass. I've seen an Audio-Technica Freeway 200 Series for $100, a Line 6 RelayG50 for $350 and a Sennheiser for $499.
Does anyone have any insight or suggestions? I've never owned a wireless before. |

They give you two options on how to place the clip which makes it very easy to snap off the "shared" plastic "nubs"(for lack of better description). Besides that point this this works better than any other I have owned/used. |

It performed flawlessly, and I highly recommend it. Also, when I bought it, I a/b'ed it with my George L's cable, and couldn't hear a difference.
Cheers! |

I'm amazed at how many threads there are here about which wireless, all with the same responses. Sometimes three or four in a row. There should be some form of Sticky for this. |

I can't tell you the number of times its been dropped and it never misses a beat. When (if) it dies I will be buying another one. Expensive, but worth every penny. |

The recvr fits in the pedal board, plugs into my One Spot power supply. The case on the transmitter is plastic, but I haven't broken it yet (5 months ). Fresh battery lasts full 4 hour show and then some (turn it off between sets). The cable that runs from the transmitter to the instrument is a little too long (oh well no big deal). The range on the thing lets me run around the bars during sound check (we usually do our own sound). And not having cables to get tangled up is SWEET!
hope this helps. |

| | | | LINE 6 +1000 I have a Line 6 XDR 95 system, and I'm really impressed with it.
It has a signal strength meter, and a battery life meter.
Has a double set of dual diversity antennas. One set is internal, and there's a pair of front mount externals.
It doesn't send a static signal when its turned off.
I nearly traumatized a crowd with that noise on my Samson sytem once.
I dont really like the transmitter case battery compartment lid, or the 9v battery attachment clip, But it sounds amazing, has great range, and looks really good in a rack mount.
Over all, as far as sound and performance, and features, other than the transmitter issues, the best system I've ever had.

I've always been a cord guy but my new band wants me to go wireless and they use the Line6 G30s so at least I know my tone has half a chance of staying intact.

Sheet mon... there goes the profit margin. But I guess at least it's not 9v batteries.
Plus, we run sound from the stage so it will be nice to be able to go out front and hear what my bass really sounds like.

The batteries last much longer than in the Line6 XDR model, which I also have. It says 8 hours on the display, but I can usually get in four or five band practices before I need to replace them (since we're not playing continuously throughout the 3-4 hour practice).

I've used both Shure and Sennheiser units, and IME, the Line 6 beats them as far as producing the exact same sound as a cable does. And there is NO loss of low end with the Line 6, either.

hope this helps. | I'll definitely second this emotion! I love my Line 6 XDS. Like you, I have the receiver permanently mounted on my pedalboard and powered by a OneSpot. Line 6 rules!

Bought it based on all of the recommendations here on TB. I played my first gig through it last night. Worked like a champ! As stated earlier, the receiver fits neatly onto a pedal board and uses a standard 9v tap from a One Spot. Transmitter battery lasted 4 sets. Very easy to set up and use. They're running $129 shipped, but supplies seem to be limited. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
