Wireless instrument system cable question

Sign in to disble this ad
I recently bought a Line 6 X2 XDS-95 wireless instrument system (excellent, BTW), and it comes with the straight 1/4" plug. Today I've been looking all over the place trying to find a cable with a 1/4" angled plug. I know I've seen them somewhere but I can't remember where! Can anybody tell me who sells them?

Radio shack sells an adapter for about 5 bucks. I have a couple of them.

YEOUCH! $40 for a cable at Bayou Cable! Think I'll try the adapter first!

Pack of decent quality patch cables works for me. Assuming the output on the L6 X2 is a normal jack out like the L6 G30.

I wouldn't use an adapter - what I have done is change the 1/4" straight plug to a 1/4" RA plug... Switchcraft and G&H both make top quality connectors that don't cost that much...

The X2's have a mini input jack. Not a 1/4" like the G30 bodypacks do.

+1 to whipping out the soldering iron and changing the end.

I have the X2 also, (+1 to awesome), but the cord that comes with it is low quality; mine shorted itself, out of the blue and I take very good care of my stuff. I then bought the upgraded cord from Line 6; a bit pricey yes, but it's excellent quality construction and it's available with the angled 1/4 plug you like. I an very happy I upgraded it and though I'm probably deluding myself, I also think the sound is cleaner with the upgraded cord.

I decided to go with the right-angle adapter from Radio Shack. Seems to work just fine. Thanks to everyone for their answers and advice.

Doh! Thats just annoying.

In which case I'd tend to try and solder one myself. However, I guess finding a mini jack connector that fits neatly onto a thicker cable might be an issue.

They are exp. cables but owrth everypenny. i had a custom cable for my X2 made in red, color of my bass. Great cable. I moved onto a G30 and plan on getting a new cable soon from them in red with angled 1/4 on each side.
