12-string bass playing style

Is it possible to play a 12-stringer fingerstyle or is it impossible to do this and play it with a pick.
I really like 12-stringer but I do not like the tone of playing with the pick

12-strings sound much better with a pick. If you play fingerstyle, the thick string will overpower the skinnier ones.

Definitely need to use a pick. I've been 12 stringin' for 7 years and found it nearly impossible to play the beast fingerstyle. Try using a different EQ setting or stomp box to get the sound you want.

It's not impossible to play a 12 string with your fingers, but to really get those shimmering harmonics to come out, you probably need to use a pick.

It's usually EeeAaaDddGgg--standard tuning with two octave strings.
