Advice for an old newbie part 1 - drums to play along to

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi guys, I am a newbie to the forum in search of help. I've been noodling on guitars and bass for 30 years and now out of the blue comes a chance to play and gig in a band. I'm trying to learn the bass to a number of songs by playing along to the originals before we get together and practice but find playing along while there is another bass playing distracting. Can anyone recommend any sources of drum tracks to download for classic rock and R&B please?

Besides a Google search, which by the way was not all that successful, I did not find all that much.

You may have more time to search. For what it is worth - I jamm to tracks with a bass on them all the time. Thank goodness the Internet is now full of some really good backing tracks. If nothing else see if Google can pull up some tracks on the songs you are going to be using and see how they do it, i.e. They probably have already come up with a good bass line, for this song, no reason to re-invent the wheel - play-a-long.

Good luck.

Here are some links to check out:

BestPractice-free, easy to use, slow downer/pitch shifter/looper/vocal remover/bass isolator/ backing track maker

I suggest you give Best Practice a try. It works very well for what you're doing.

Good luck.

Let us know how it goes.
