Aggressive Downtuned Pick Playing

Sign in to disble this ad
I've been playing pretty aggressive music lately, and I noticed the increase in fret buzz. Is this too much? I LOVE fret buzz but it seems that when I play like this the buzz is overpowering the actual notes. Some tips on proper left and right hand technique for playing this kind of music would be great.

EDIT: Does it sound like user error or setup to you?

I think it sounds pretty sweet. There is one note in the fill around 0:14 that gets drowned out by the buzz. But the rest of the time, I think the buzz contributes to your sound.

I say leave it

Thanks. I guess it does sound pretty cool.
I think everyone gets a little self-concious about their playing every once in a while.

Didn't think there was much buzz at all. A lot of pick slap, but sounded fine to me

Yeah thats not that much buzz, sounds fine to me. I get more when I dig hard with my fingers than with that.

+1

I keep the action a little higher on my "E" string than the rest just so it wont buzz too bad. I tend to play it a little harder than the others.

nice tone ! but i think once you add drums and guitar to a track, it will cover up that nice metallic sound and you will need more of it.
