Any good classical pieces for tapping?

Sign in to disble this ad
hey guys,

I managed to learn Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata on bass and it's a great piece to tap.

Can anyone recommend any other good classical pieces for tapping? Piano Sonatas?

Thanks.

This may be a fun piece, and useful as it outlines some useful chord shapes that can be used in your own compositions.

The Well Tempered Clavier - Prelude 1 - C Major

It probably needs to be played 2 octaves below written, as in the first C should be 8th fret E string or 3rd fret A string.

edit: On further review, an octave shift at some point may be required, unless you tap harmonics for high A or have a C string, in which case, it may be feasible to play 1 octave below written (which would still require a low B string).

well, this is partially tapping (hammering, but technically tapping). It's classical and amazing none-the-less.

Stu Hamm did Prelude in C, you can find tab for it pretty easy. I play Fugue in D-minor sometimes, just tap the top notes, EVH style. Not too hard, IMO.
