Anyone else use their nails for a different tonality?

Recently I've stopped biting my fingernails and they're are getting long enough to pluck the strings, playing with my amp and bass flat I can tell there's a huge difference.

I hate playing with long nails. I play a lot better when they are cut short.

I have very short cut nails, but I use them to get really bright harmonics.

It's another option to throw in there - finger pads, finger nails, slaps, pops, plectrum.

Not on purpose, but it happens. I've learned to always keep nail clippers in my studio gig bag.

I am known to take my thumbnail on my right hand and scrape it along the string surface to get it to "bow".

I'm actually growing out the nails on the first two fingers of my right hand to get a sharper attack.

I can't play with a pick- I need the fingers of both hands to be moving in coordination with each other, or else my right hand knows not what my left hand is doing.

I purposely leave my right index and middle nails longer. I don't always use them but it is nice to have them if I want a different tone.

I chew my nails terribly. I've never been able to play that way
