Arm falling asleep with a pick.

I tend to play up high, and with my fingers. I never really ever played with a pick. But I have been trying it, just playing with the tone difference. But my pick hand is falling asleep after playing a short time. And this is when I am sitting down too.

Do I just fail that bad with a pick?
