IN the recordings forum, people said that the really fast part in the awakening bass solois not double thumped. THey said he is jsut good at manipulting tripilets and muting. HOw does he do this to make the piece sound so fast?

It's a combination of triplets (a few tripets) and very creative use of hammer-ons. The fast part when he goes up and down that scale are mostly done with fast regular slap/pop and hammer-ons. That's pretty much it, no double thump.
