Bass chords on 6+ string bass

Sign in to disble this ad
Anyone have any good resources for bass chords on a 6 string bass?

Like if you were in a small combo and wanted to comp behind a guitar player or in a small 3 piece band or so and wanted to fill out the sound a little more in spots?

Just wondering if there's anything out there like that..

Thanks.

Todd Johnson, who has a forum in the "ask a pro" section here on TB, has a new book/DVD on that very subject. He's a 6-string player and his chord work is kind of his trademark. Check it out.

I'd be interested in knowing if there were any chord books with inversions etc.

I'd recommend Todd Johnson's "Fishin' for Grips" and Mike Dimin's "The Art of Solo Bass"
