bat country (Avenged Sevenfold) Blues

Sign in to disble this ad
Im learning Bat Country by Avenged Sevenfold for my band, and right now im playing it with fingers instead of a pick (The verse of the song is all 16th notes). My only issue is, playing with my two fingers often resuts in my fore-arm and my hand cramping up, severely affecting my tempo and dynamics. Any advice, warm-ups, excercises that anybody can give to help me combat this problem?

minimize motion, start slow and work up endurance, RELAX, maybe try a pick?

Suggestion #1: find a band that won't make you play mallcore songs with fast, simplistic bass lines. Suggestion #2 should you choose to ignore suggestion #1: use a light touch so you don't tire your fingers out as quickly, and play quickly for several minutes at a time with a metronome. It will improve your endurance as well as your precision.
