I play with a guitarist who washes his hands before every set and will not shake hands with anyone before playing. Something to do with skin oil.
On the other hand, I will not wash my hands within 15 minutes before playing because it softens the skin and makes the strings feel different. This is more of an issue on guitar than on bass. |

then i just try and sit down quietly by myself for like 5-10 minutes.
a friend of my does yoga before he goes on.

then sometimes i stretch my fingers, usually by playing from f to a on the e string, without shifting my hand |

Now.... take a nap in the afternoon, then a good, strong cup of black coffee about an hour before the gig |

I just do a deposit and withdrawal.... black coffee and a piss.

I also take a leak three times during that hour, just so there are no distractions while playing. |
