I'm a beginner, I've started to play like 5 or 6 months ago. So far, I'm doing it pretty well IMO. Now, I'm trying to get a good repertoire of songs together, no matter the style. In fact, like I'm just beginning, Iwould like to have covered many styles by starting with easy songs.
Since I'm just starting, I also practice with pick and fingers, so the question is, could you give me some ideas for get a bunch of easy songs to work on?. I would like to cover some styles like rock, reggae, ska, funk and metal. Just starting and finding which I like the most.
Thanks in advance!! |

Ben.E.King: Stand by me
Red hot chilis: Under the bridge
Breeders: Cannonball
The Beatles: come together
Police: Roxanne
White stripes: Seven nation army
Red hot chilis: If you want me to stay
Wild cherry: Play that funky music
There's loads of other stuff on the site that may help you as well. |

Cream, Sunshine of your Love is a good one.
Higher Ground is a good beginner slapping song, just but out some of the false pops/false slaps.

| | | | 'Stand By Me', is great for learning to hear the bass and build good rhythm. 'Fever', could fall into that same category.
I also liked learning 'Wipeout', 'Lowrider', "Come Together' We Got to Get out of This Place", "The Reflex" and 'WooHoo'.
If you have a five string, 'Feel Good Inc.'.
All very simple and repetitive. |

Baby Love
Get Ready
This Old Heart of Mine
My Girl (I think that's in there....)

None of them are extremely complex - but you'll learn a truck load by copping most of them! |

OP:The Pixies have a lot good lines for beginner bass players, I would stay from Crackity Jones until your fingers become faster but for the most part they're fairly easy and fun.
Metal, I would try Wasted Years by Iron Maiden, fairly easy. |
