Best bass and amp config for slap/pluck??

hi, im about to start getting into slapping and plucking, but i would like to know what setup with the bass (i have an fender american jazz) or amp (swr workingman 12) i should have. ? what do u guys think?

It'll work fine, I've seen a lot of players use SWR for slap, as well as Gallien-Krueger, and a few others that escape me at the moment. Your Jazz bass will be excellent as well, great slap basses IMO.

I wouldn't be woried as much about gear as I would about technique and EQ. That's where the tone comes from.

sry for my question not being clear, but im wondering what the settings (knobs being turned in a direction) on my bass and amp should be?
