Best Bass Guitar Technique Book?
I have been playing bass for about 4 or 5 years. I started out playing upright and have made the transition to bass guitar within the last three years. I would call myself an intermediate bassist.
Is there a Intermediate Bass Guitar method book that you would suggest? I've played around with most of the Hal Leonard bass books, but I'm looking for something a bit more in-depth.
The bass I have is a six-string bass. So if there are any six-string intermediate method books, that would be awesome. I just don't know if there is a particular method book that sticks out from the rest!
Not a book, but a DVD, Todd Johnson's DVD is one of the best out there IMO.
N.B. : It does not cover slap or tap.
This is the most comprehensive body of work I have found and I have pretty much bought it all or at least looked at it.
Tony also has a section on here and is very responsive. It is the best bang for buck for intermediates to advanced. IMO.
Check it out. It is also on amazon.
+1 on Todd Johnson
Joel di Bartolo's "Serious Electric BAss" is also very good.
