"Best" latin bass book

Looked at the Sher book and listened to some tracks. Good playing but not exactly traditional latin bass playing.

What's a good book that has all the standard latin bass lines transcribed?

if you're talking about "the latin bass book" by chuck sher and oscar stagnaro, then unfortunately i can't help you. This book is an outstanding and hugely comprehensive reference for latin basslines..

Latin Bass

The one you mentioned is excellent.
Also, check out:

Afro-Cuban Bass Grooves (also has matching keyboard book):

And, The True Cuban Bass, also available from Sher Music.

"The True Cuban Bass Book" by Chuck Sher Publishing is a wonderful resource. Since working through this book I've received loads of compliments on my playing in latin music situations.
