Bill Dickens' Funk Bass & Beyond?

Sign in to disble this ad
I apologize if this is in the wrong area. Has anyone used Bill Dickens "Funk & Beyond" book? Judging from the google books preview the basics are pretty standard, anything interesting in the more advanced stuff? I have a pretty good handle on basic slap technique, any eye openers in the book? Thoughts?

Thanks,
Matt

While Bill has some impressive chops, his knowledge of music is suspect. He refers to ii V I chord progression as a technique. w-t-f?
You get a big dose of Bill Dickens chops, not sure how much you will actually get that you will end up using. I guess some the technique demos are informative??

Personally, I like Ed Friedland's stuff. He is a very articulate guy, very knowledgeable and a great player in many styles including funk/slap.
