Bit of a boast, but I like to think I stuck this!

I played a gig a couple of weeks ago which was my first in about a year, as well as my first with the band. We played a 20 minute set of originals for an all day charity event (along with 16 other bands).

I'd been practicing something I picked up from a Victor Wooten video on YouTube (that now escapes me) where 4 mutes are used in quick succession in the following fashion:

Strum down with thumb of playing hand
slap on with fingers of fretting hand
strum back up with the thumb of playing hand
pluck in traditional slap and pluck style with fingers of playing hand

thus giving four muted notes.

Anywho, I had been playing and practicing that little lick for quite some time, working on speed, acuracy, and more importantly, where I could actually fit it into a song. Then about 6 weeks ago, I joined the band, and where previously the old bassist had gone into his own solo mimicking a guitar line pretty much note-for-note, I had a moment of inspiration! (no, not prespiration...)

I managed to combine a few notes, a chord, 4 muted notes and a wah pedal into what I think (In my own, humble, honest, hopinion) came out quite well!

Anyways, Have a listen:

Here, and skip to about 2.30 if you're in a hurry :P

PS: This wasn't meant as "Hey, I'm better than you", I'd just like to share something I'm proud of.
