Blister on my fretting hand!

Sign in to disble this ad
Okay, so I got a blister on ym fretting hand from playing mroe often than I was used to on the G string(haha.) So any idea what I should do? Drain it with a needle and give it overnight to heal? That's what I did for my plucking hand when I first started, but I've been playing almost 3 years and never experienced this, so I figured I'd ask here.

And does anybody know of a really quick fix without superglue? Because I'd love to know in case I get one and I've got a gig or something later that night.

I'm aware, I was only asking what I should do to get rid of it, because it bothers the heck outta me when I play, it doesn't hurt or anything, just annoying like a papercut(even though if it's on the tip of my finger I overrect, lolz.)

I'd just like to get back to normal playing as soon as I can, since I probably won't always have that blister there.

I agree on the superglue note, it will harden up the surface, faux callus per say.

Thats what superglue was originally designed for anyways, well, for gluing cuts together.

Superglue can irritate skin on some people (other than actually gluing it together) but they're the minority.

Pop your blister, clean it out REALLY good and then squirt some superglue on it. Rex Brown of Pantera/Down/etc. CONSTANTLY plays this way. I think he's even graduated to using tape since the superglue wasn't enough anymore.

Don't ever pick it off. Treat it like your plucking blisters. Just let them callus and play it softly so yeah be gentle until it calluses.
And have your mommy kiss it.
